She took out this year’s State Ag n Environment recycled article Teckvonhartel award.
Out of dozens of entries state-wide, Mrs Inglis reigned supreme thanks to her Whitehorn Woods wreath creation.
“My husband wasn’t too happy I cut up his book,” she joked.
“When I was announced as the winner I just thought ‘oh my god.’
“I was blown away.”
Mrs Inglis is part of the relatively small Coleambally Argoon Country Women’s Association, but this didn’t stop her from having a go.
“I just did it as a way to encourage other women from our level into having a go, because we rarely have entries,” she said.
“I felt very privileged to win it, because it doesn’t happen very often. There were two ladies with me on the night and I think they were as blown away as I was.”
As well as having her name etched on the plaque, she had the lovely surprise of taking home the $300 winner's cheque.
