The Coleambally bowling green and surrounds have recently received a face lift with the addition of new seating at the ends of each bowling rink. Local citizen Les Robinson spent hours of voluntary work in designing, welding and organizing powder coating for the seating. Eight seats are already in use and eight more will be installed in the very near future. A grant was received from the Community Bank and proceeds from the "Book Trolley" helped with the cost.
The dedicated volunteers like Les and the volunteer green keepers are keeping the Coly Club looking very neat and tidy and inviting to all who visit. The Coly Club is also inviting people to join in its first ever touring road rally. The day includes ‘isual navigation’ from Coleambally to the DECA facility at Shepparton for some exciting Motorkhana and sprint laps around the “Back Track.” Race permits are available on the day for anyone entering the Motorkhana and sprint laps ($25).
All you need is a current driver’s license, your car must be registered and roadworthy, and for those entering the “speed” events you will need a mounted fire extinguisher, an approved helmet (motorbike helmet is acceptable) and a first aid kit. The event will take place on June 25. More details with entry forms, registration and supplementary regulations are on www.colyclub.com. Entry’s close June 15.
