A 14-point unanswered run for the Leeton Greens was the icing on the cake when they travelled to Coleambally to take on the DPC Roosters.
The Greens played like a team sitting atop the ladder as they were able to grab an early lead thanks to two tries from Bas Blackett. When fullback Tristan Johnson broke through the line on the first tackle off a scrum, no Rooster was able to catch him as the Greens went up 16-4.
With the first half nearing a close, Roosters’ Dillon Bartter and the Greens pair of Danny Maskill and Todd Prest were sent to the sin bin
Not long after, Tony Leadbitter went over for the Roosters and they went into the sheds down just 16-10.
The Roosters couldn’t capitalise on the extra man as they went scoreless in the second half. The game was called off due to injury with just ten minutes to go with the Greens 30 – DPC 10.
