After the holiday break the junior Roosters were champing at the bit to play some rugby league again and even the cold weather in Griffith couldn’t dampen the players’ spirits.
The mod girls had a tough game, and went down 31-10 against the Black and Whites but are still looking great for the finals.
The CDP under 10s side lost against Leeton 44-14.
The under 12s Roosters, who are combined with Black and Whites each week, played a hard-fought match against Leeton which ended in a 24-all draw.
The international girls had a 9am start and ended up losing to Yenda 18-0 but showed some great improvement.
The non-competitive teams – under 7s, 8s and 9s in the boys and mini girls also toughed out the cold and ended with some great team wins and losses for the day.
Training is at Darlington Point this week and there is only one round until the semis start.
The junior Roosters would like to thank the coaches and volunteers for all they have done this year – without these people the club wouldn't exist.
There has been a couple of new coaches this year and they have done a fantastic job along with our other coaches. Please continue to support these people because if we didn't have them, your kids wouldn't be able to play.
The season is fast coming to an end.
It seemed like the season started just a few weeks ago but the final match of the year is just three and a half weeks away.
The grand final for Group 20 juniors will be held on August 27 and a venue for the matches is still to be decided.
