The under 17s bowed out of the Farrer Football League competition on Saturday at Gumly Oval.
The junior Blues were always in the match but eventually went down by 20 points against the Northern Jets in the semi-final match-up.
After slumping to 19 points behind at quarter-time, the boys reignited the contest in the second term.
Coleambally hit the front just on half-time – by kicking four goals to one in the second quarter against the Jets – to take a three-point lead into the break.
The half-time break ended up being the boys’ worst enemy as they failed to capitalise on the momentum they had gained.
The Jets kicked away in the second half to win 9.9 (63) to 6.7 (43).
The best players for Coleambally were James Lyell, Ryan Mannes, Tom Mannes, Harry Tooth, Blake Goudie and Tim Hayes.
Shaun Harper bagged two goals whilst Jack Cullen, Darcy Mader, Harry Tooth and Chris Hayes all kicked one each for Coly.
The loss brings an end to a great season of football for the boys and their dedicated coach Glen Tooth.
The club congratulated the boys and their coach on, not only their commitment throughout the year, but the effort put in by the group week in, week out.
