THIRD grade successfully took on Hanwood in a mid-table battle, in the only cricket action involving Coleambally sides over the weekend.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Coly got off to a good start with Cooper Smith (39) and Tom Fattore (12) getting the side to 26.
When Fattore was caught off the bowling of Harry Rowston (1/5) Ryan Mannes (14) came to the crease and Coly pushed on.
Mannes and Smith put on 41 runs before a miscommunication resulted in the latter being run out by Torren Blanch.
It proved to have little impact on Coly’s scoring as Tom Bowditch (31*) took off from where Smith left off.
When Mannes was bowled by Angus Bartter (1/5), Jack Cullen came to the crease and combined with Bowditch to put on 37 runs boosting Coly to 4/116 when Cullen was bowled by Oliver Bartter (2/23).
Some late runs from Chris Hayes (3*) helped raise Coly’s score to 5/125 off their 20 overs.
It was a familiar name doing the damage with the ball for Coly, after an impressive outing with the bat, with Smith dismissing both Ben Rowston (0) and Blanch (1) cheaply.
Ryan McWhirter (8) and Issac Campbell (38) put together the biggest partnership for Hanwood with the pair putting on 29.
McWhirter was caught off the bowling off Cullen (1/8) brought Micheal Agnew (4) who combined with Campbell to get the score to 52.
Once McWhirter and Campbell fell no one else could step up.
Coly went on to claim a 36-run victory.
