WHEN it comes to kindness, Murrumbidgee Council staff members have bags of it.
They proved by lending their support to the Share the Dignity “It’s in the Bag” Christmas campaign.
The drive asked people to donate a handbag they no longer use and fill it with items that would make a woman feel special to show her someone cares and she matters.
Council’s Community Care Co-ordinator Cindy Eldridge put the call out and was thrilled when more than a dozen handbags and a wide array of other useful items were donated by staff and the community as a whole.
Murrumbidgee Council General Manager, Craig Moffitt said he was delighted to see such compassion shown, especially at Christmas time.
“I congratulate everyone for contributing to this cause,” he said.
