POLICE remain suspicious and continue to investigate possible links between a rogue vehicle and a grass fire at Darlington Point on Tuesday.
The blaze is believed to have spread after a car fire started in a paddock off Britts Road before moving towards house on Hay Road.
Griffith Local Area Command is investigating how the car ended up in the field after reports a silver Ford sedan was performing burnouts in the area.
The NSW Rural Fire Service brought in four trucks and 14 firefighters while an aircraft performed two water bombing passes to bring the fire under control.
The fire burned through 14 hectares of grassland.
Murrumbidgee Council also provided equipment to help with containment lines and burning trees.
“The fire is now completely under control. Murrumbidgee Council are currently monitoring the situation and performing clean up,” an RFS spokesperson said on Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information is urged to get in contact with Griffith Police on 6969 4299.
