President Beverley Rose-Wiseman and vice-president Gail Hibbert reported on school presentations of December.
Australia Day – we passed on our branch certificate of appreciation for our nomination for “Event of The Year” to cultural officer Sue Inglis.
Simone, representing Intereach, presented three members, Sue Inglis, Gail Hibbert and Cate Hardy, with certificates of appreciation.
The branch presented Brie Wadley with an honorary membership.
The president presented new member Sue-Ellen Chilvers with her gold membership card.
Branch members contributed messages in a card for our member Di Wiseman who is in hospital in Sydney.
We sent a card to our past state president, Elaine Armstrong, on her recent award of OAM. We also sent a sympathy card to Beth Circuitt of Hay, past group president and group secretary, on the sad loss of her husband, Sandy.
Entries were organised for the forthcoming group handicraft and Land cookery day at Berrigan on Tuesday, March 7. Travel arrangements were also made. Members who missed the meeting need to contact our Handicraft officer with your entries ASAP.
We are having a craft/scrap booking day at the Youth Hall, Coleambally on Friday, April 21 and all are welcome.
The meeting decided that the MDBA call for more submissions needs an answer. We are concerned that there is “all talk and not much done” and that country people are still suffering.
Members have been asked for ideas for future speakers for meeting and for ideas for Coleambally’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2018.
