After winning the toss and electing to bat, Diggers were able to make a flying start with Mark Favell and Michael Duncan able to get the side towards the 50 mark.
Bryce Rogers (1/18) took the wicket of Favell (14), Duncan continued his push before he was dismissed just short of a half-century by Sam Breed (1/10) with Brian Corner followed soon after to have Diggers on 3/70.
Rocky Perre (16) lead the way in a 22-run partnership with Brendan Wade (4) before both batsmen were dismissed by Mitchell Wiseman (4/23).
Wiseman was the thorn in Diggers side in the later stages of the innings while Lachlan Vogan (2/6) also taking crucial wickets.
Daniel Dossiter (12) and Brett Green (14) were the only lower order batsmen to break double digits as the side were bowled out for 135 off their 35 overs.
Luke Roberts and Sam Breed tried to make a positive start for the Nomads with an opening stand of 17 before Roberts was dismissed by Corner (1/6).
The fall of Roberts triggered a collapse which saw Coleambally lose 5 for nine as Breed (6), Rogers (0), Vogan (0) and Shaun Iddles (0) fell in quick succession.
Nathan Jones (16) tried to lead a fightback for the Nomads, but the introduction of Mark Favell into the attack proved too hard for the batters to deal with.
Favell took the wicket of Jones and Shane Taylor (4) before Sam Casey (21) tried to lead Coly into a stronger position with the side at 7/42 needing another 94 runs to pick up the win.
However, when Casey and Puram Sri (3) became Favell (6/34) fifth and sixth wicket respectively the Nomads chances were hanging by a thread.
Wiseman (10*) was able to add some late runs however when Leonard Walton (2) was dismissed by Nathan Richards (1/0) it brought the Nomads innings to a close on 91 to see Diggers come away with a 44-run victory.
With the games between Hanwood and Coro as well Exies can Leagues being washed out on Saturday due to the close to 80mm fell during the weekend meaning those sides will pick up four points each.
The Friday night game has worked in Diggers favour now extending their lead at the top to five points with the bonus point win to now be on 49 points after eight rounds while Coro is on 44 points.
Yenda, along with Coly, didn’t pick up a point from the round due to having the bye and will remain on the bottom of the table 15 points behind the Nomads.
