Council are in the process of developing their first Community Strategic Plan (CSP), aimed at identifying the priorities and individual needs of the area’s three towns.
General Manager Craig Moffitt says the plan is an opportunity for the new council to create a blueprint for the region.
“Council will be going out to the community and asking residents to nominate their ideas and suggestions as to what Council’s priorities should be for the next 10 years,” he said.
“It will give us a long-term vision for our Council, yet allow us to recognise the individual needs and priorities of our three towns.
The CSP comes on the back of the announcement of big plans for Coleambally and Darlington Point.
Just last week, nearly half a million dollars in funding was announced for a new pontoon and boat ramp along the Murrumbidgee River near Darlington Point.
“Council is also keen to hear and understand how we can support existing businesses and attract new investment into the Council area.”
Residents will have plenty of opportunities to get involved. The coming months will see workshops, displays and surveys.
To make these resources more accessible, they will also be available on Murrumbidgee Council’s website.
