Tim was one of the very first white Lions imported into Australia and made Darlington Point his home, together with companion Bella in August, 2012.
Tim was diagnosed with skin cancer in September last year and was treated accordingly, however the cancer morphed, becoming intensely aggressive leaving his keepers with no choice but to set his spirit free.
“We loved him, he was one of the family like all our animals are,” senior animal keeper Rebecca Surian said.
“Cats in general can suffer from cancer, which is an issue not only for domestic cats but also the big cats as well.”
He was described as an amazing and also a cheeky lion that seemed to thoroughly enjoy surprising his keepers and visitors with a spontaneous growl.

“Tim was a big softy for the most part of the day, but at feed times changed as if possessed into a completely different animal,” Rebecca said.
“He announced his intentions with his iconic and famous growls and roar, sounding very similar to a motorboat or Hayley Davidson at full throttle.
“All this just so you were warned of what could follow should you step too close.”
He has left his legacy behind in his many cubs, and keepers agreed he proved to be a very patient, tolerant and caring dad, especially his latest litter in 2014.
“Tim’s touched so many people's hearts ... we’ll miss him!”
