Coleambally CanAssist was recently the recipient of a $500 grant, designed to support charity’s within the community.
CanAssist Coleambally President Margaret Cobden said the cheque came as a lovely surprise
“We’re very pleased with the donation. It’s lovely and it boosts us along a bit,” she said.
“It’s always nice to get support from people and businesses in the community.”

CanAssist currently supports nine people in the Coleambally area who are living with cancer.
Support often comes in the financial assistance, practical support and accommodation.
Carrie Downie from Commonwealth’s Coleambally branch who organised the cheque said Ms Cobden and her team provided the community an invaluable service.
“We’re given a $500 grant as a branch to give to a charity or some kind of event in the community to help support,” she said.
“We thought CanAssist are a great organisation to donate the money to. They do a great job of helping people in the community.”
