It’s been a good off-season for Darlington Point-Coleambally, who will host Yanco-Wamoon on Sunday.
Roosters coach Ryan McGoldrick was looking forward to the match.
“It works out well for us at this time of year … it’s always good to play at home,” he said.
“A few of our blokes are working on the rice harvest and it adds less pressure (by having the match at home).
“Looking at the sides ... it has brought everyone a lot closer together. (Everyone will be) there or there abouts for the whole year. They are all going to be fairly competitive.”
The Roosters have picked up three recruits from England, who landed in the region last week.
The young guns are looking to show the competition what they are made of as they look to make a career out of the sport.
“I’m really excited to see how these guys go,” McGoldrick said.
