Ms Fletcher works as an educator at Coleambally Pre-School and recently celebrated her 30th anniversary.
When over 100 staff and families surprised her at a party last week, she said she was completely gobsmacked.
“It was really good to walk into the party and to see everyone there. I was really shocked,” she said.
The party came as a complete surprise.
She says she’s enjoyed getting to know a range of families throughout the area.
“I know all the children that have come through and their families,” she said.
Having started off teaching Coly children three decades ago, she now finds she’s teaching their children.
“I applied for a job back in 1988. I just really enjoyed working with kids. They’re kind and they’re very honest,” she said.
“I started off teaching kids and now it’s at the point where I’m seeing some of their children coming through … You get to know a lot of families.”
She still enjoys her job as much now as she did the day she started.
“I’m really lucky. They say if you love your job you don’t work a day in your life. I’ve definitely seen some of that,” she said.

“We have a really great team of staff. They’re very kind and very caring.”
Mrs Fletcher says she’s also watched the town change too. She says there’s a larger presence of grandparents in Coleambally these days.
“There are a lot more grandparents in town these days. Kids get to see a lot more of them and it’s good for them to get to experience that kind of thing.”
Coleambally Preschool Director Vicki McIntosh has been working with Mrs Fletcher for more than a decade. She says her knowledge and support has been invaluable.
“Robyn has many years of experience. She’s fantastic to work with. She’s a great model for anyone coming through the centre in any capacity,” she said.
“She’s very dedicated and amazing with the kids. They all just love her.”
When Ms McIntosh stepped into her role 12 years ago, she said it was great to work with someone with so much experience.
