A late stage comeback resulted in a draw against Yanco Wamoon in the senior side.
Coach Ryan McGoldrick said was pretty happy with the result.
“We’re pretty happy. We got down to 20 – 6. It was a point gained rather than a point lost. It was probably a fair effort on our part,” he said.
He said Dean Shorts and Luke Hogan were by far the best on site.
Dean Shorts wound back the clock. He showed he’s at least got another 10 years. He played tough,” he said.
“Luke Hogan come on a lot more with the confidence of last year. Hegot stuck into them in the centre. It good to see after a year in the first grade.”
After a difficult first-half, McGoldrick says the team were able to put that initial plan into action.
“We were really underdone coming into the game. We spoke about holding onto the ball and completing our sets,” he said.
“We held a little bit more ball and gave ourselves a chance to compete. It got us back into the game.”
Next week will see the Roosters take on the Waratahs Tigers in another home game.
