Coleambally will host the ANZAC services this year, with the dawn service kicking off at 5.45am in John McInnes square.
The annual ANZAC Day parade will start at 10.45 am in front of the community hall to march into John McInnes square. The day will include an address by Coleambally Central School’s captains.
Coleambally Darlington Point RSL Sub Branch member Ken Martin says the day is one of the most important on the Australian calendar.
“I think this year makes it especially significant,” he said.

“It’s important to us and to the whole community. We need to recognise the service of those fellows who fought so long ago.”
He says he’s happy to see an increasing presence of young people at the services each year.
“We’re having a larger turn up at both our services of young people. They’re getting more and more involved and I think that’s fantastic,” he said.
“It’s really great to think they put in the effort to get up and come to an early dawn service.”
The younger generation, he says, certainly understand the importance of April 25.
ANZAC Day commemorates the day of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops in Gallipoli, Turkey in World War One.
Today, it serves as a national reminder for the servicemen and women who have served in any conflict since.
“We might not be here today without their service. It’s terribly important we take the time to pay tribute to that.”
