The home team came away with a 38-12 win. New coach Jason Fuller said the match proved a good confidence boost for the team.
“We were pretty happy with the win for the boys. We were a new team that came together over the last two weeks,” Fuller said.
“We started with six or seven players. They’ve started picking up numbers in the last few weeks.”

The opposition was one man down, but the match proved a good starting point for the juniors’ season.
“We’ve still got a long way to go, but it’s good we’ve got those numbers now,” he said.
Fuller said building up the team’s defence is the biggest priority going forward.
“We’ve got to pull together and put focus on having a lot of teamwork and a lot of inside pressure going forward,” he said.
Fuller said the next few weeks will be crucial for the team moving forward as they continue to learn how to play together. While the whole team performed well, he named forward Jordan Magoci, as well as Thomas Fattore and Thomas Bowditch, as best men on field.
“I would definitely say there’s a lot of talent around the area. It’s part of the reason I decided to come over to the Point this year,” he said.
