A suspended Sydney magistrate has been ordered to stand trial in the NSW District Court accused of indecently assaulting a boy in the early 1980s.

Graeme Bryan Curran, 68, was charged in October with nine counts of assaulting the youth and committing an act of indecency on him between January 1981 and December 1983 in Sydney and on the NSW south coast.
In the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, Victorian Deputy Chief Magistrate Felicity Broughton presided over the case via video link when she committed him to stand trial.
Curran had waived his right to a committal hearing and the case was adjourned to the NSW District Court to July 6.
He was suspended from his position in October after he was charged with the offences.
