Events and tours from Friday to Sunday offer a taste of history, produce, arts, entertainment, animals and culture.
Festival committee member Catherine DeMamiel said everything is getting set, and everyone has their eyes glued to the weather forecast.
“Every day we check the forecast improves – it’s gone from raining to chance of rain, and now hopefully we will have clear skies for the weekend – then we hope it rains after that,” she said.
With so much to offer, Coleambally is set to be packed with locals and tourists alike, holding a myriad of interesting events to see, taste and do.
Sunday will see the streets lined with over 50 stalls, kicked off with a Poet’s Breakfast on 7.30am, the markets, complete with kid’s entertainment and activities.
Special events include the Sunrice Coly Cook-off, with the chance for up-and-coming chefs test their mettle against each other and more experienced hands see who has the edge on the competition on Sunday.
The smash hit colour run last year is also set to go off once more, with entries already pouring in.
“Last year we only planned for about 200 entries, but then when we hit the 400 mark we had to try to source some more colour overnight… and with the rate of entries coming in again this year it’s looking like we will beat that number,” Ms DeMamiel said.
The sell-out 50 Mile Meal will once again put Colambally’s produce on the plate, with a degustation menu featuring local produce.

“This meal will be complemented with talks from local producers and businesses, with a few newbies too,” Ms DeMamiel said.
“This year it will probably sell-out once again.”
The Festival has previously won the 2014 and 2016 Australia Day Award for ‘Community Event of the Year’ as well as the 2016 Cultural Award for the Art Precinct.
