VERY hot, windy and dry conditions predicted for Tuesday have led to a total fire ban being declared across the Northern Riverina Zone as well as the entire state of NSW, starting at midnight.

The forecast is a high fire danger rating for Carrathool, Griffith, Hay, Leeton, Narrandera and Northern parts of Murrumbidgee.
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons declared the total fire ban to reduce the risk of fires damaging or destroying life, property and the environment.
Harvest operators should monitor conditions and regularly check that they are operating within guidelines.
During a total fire ban, no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.
This includes incinerators and barbecues which burn solid fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads.
No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open.
An alert issued by the NSW RFS said conditions on Tuesday would be “difficult and dangerous”.
The total fire ban commences at 12.01am on Tuesday and finishes at 11.59pm the same day.
