Having made it to the semi finals at last month's West Wylong Knockout, the Roosters finished higher than any of the other Group 20 sides.
Club president Steve Hogan said he was reluctant to gauge his club against other Group 20 sides based on the Knockout.
However, Hogan said the Roosters are poised to do well at the upcoming Paul Kelly Cup on March 23.
According to Hogan the Roosters scored a number of prime signings this year which he believes will bring the side a wealth of experience and problem solving on the field.
"Billy Rob has come home from a couple of years in Wollongong," Hogan said.
"He has always been a talented footballer, he has a lot of size and strength and he will pay in the center."
Hogan said he is especially chuffed this year with the addition of former Cowboys player and Group Nine coach Ben Jeffries.
"Ben is a big signing for us, and we are looking forward to his involvement, he has a lot of experience and his leadership and skills will be a great addition," Hogan said.
Hogan also said the side will be benefiting from the growth of several younger players who joined the side last year.
"We blooded a lot of younger players last year and they will be better off for it, Tom Young, Brad Lyons and Luke Hogan will bring more skill and they are bigger and stronger on his year," Hogan said.
With the Roosters finishing second last on the ladder in 2018 Hogan said the side will be mostly focusing on its improving their marks on the ground with the goal of playing in the finals this year.
"Every one is very excited we are getting plenty of roll-ups to training," Hogan said.
Of the competition in the Group 20 Hogan said West Wyalong has also made a number of the sweet signings this year, including Jake Goodwin moving from Temora.
Meanwhile while the Waratahs will always be a tough side to beat, having picked up Will McMartin also from Temora.
With the Paul Kelly cup kicking off on March 23, the Roosters will be beginning the first game of the Group 20 with a bye.
The Club will hold a fundraiser at Baratto Wines in Hanwood running from 2pm to 7pm on March 30 with a guernsey auction.
