The Coro Cougars have jumped into the top four after picking up a 128-run win over Hanwood at Exies No 2.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Cougars lost Brett Crooks (6) with the score on 12 while Andrew Potter (7) and Peter Taprell (9) followed closely behind to have the Coro side sitting on 3/34.
Coro captain Justin Moat and Angus Kennedy went about rebuilding the innings and in doing so put on 128 runs for the fourth wicket before Moat (95) fell to the bowling of Trevor Cowie.
Cowie (5/24) picked up four lower-order wickets to help restrict the Cougars to 9/190 off their 40 overs.
In reply, the Hanwood batting line-up had little in the way of a response to the Cougars. Charlie Simpson (11) was the only Hanwood batsman to break double digits as Dion Pascoe (4/8) ripped through the top order to have the batting side struggling to gain a foothold. Nick Witherspoon (2/15) and Andrew Potter (3/7) took the remaining wickets to see Hanwood bowled out of 62 after 29.1 overs.
The battle for the minor premiership will continue into the final round after Diggers were able to knock off first-placed Leagues.
Michael Duncan (49) and Brendan Wade (23) were the only batsmen to get a start for the Diggers side.
When Connor Edenden (3/16) picked up Duncan, and Liam Warren (2/7) picked up the wicket of Wade they helped to restrict Diggers to 113 after 28.3 overs.
The top order of the Panthers got their side off to a good start as Teao Woetai and Derek Opo (19) but on 27 for the first wicket before Woetai (14) was dismissed by Matthew Butcher.
The trouble struck when captain Kierran Williams (0) was dismissed with the score on 58 as the Panthers went on to lose their final 8/30 runs as Butcher (3/14), Brian Corner (2/18) and Grant McMaster (4/14) ripped through the batting line-up. Shane Makea (32) was the only of the remaining batsman to make an impact on the scoreboard as Leagues were bowled out of 88 in 30 overs to hand Diggers a 25-run victory.
The scorecard from the Exies and Coleambally game was not available at the time of publication.
