Four new additions from the north of Australia are set arrive at the club this weekend.
Co coach Mitch Carroll said the new players will be a massive boost for the team's forward offensive abilities.
With the Coly side loosing during a practice match against Lockhart on Friday, Carroll said the team will be focusing on up building up their hard running and endurance over the next few weeks.
"We lost by about 20 points, It wasn't too bad we had a good first half but we fell away in the second half," Carroll said.
"We ran out of a bit of fitness in the end, and we were a bit light on numbers."
"We're working on endurance running it has been a bit tough but we only have a week or so left and then we'll, we will just be finishing off training at Coly."
The Blues have been scouring far and wide this year to scoop up some new blood for the team, with Blues wing player Charlie McAdam proving to be an invaluable contact in attracting Northern Territory players to the side.
Charlie's brother Adrian McAdam will be joining the blues to play in the back-line this year.
Amoung the new additions to the team Palmerston footballer Raven Marika will also be bolstering the Blues midfield this year, having won was best-on-ground at the MCG in a 2017 Rio Tinto Cup curtain raiser.
Also Joining the Blues to play in the forward pocket will be Jack Brown a former division one player in the Northern Territory Football League's southern districts.
He will be playing alongside other new addition to forward line, Cairns-based footballer Dwayne Weetra and new utility sign Luke Schulz.
"In Darwin they have a summer comp, so that has been their training especially with the heat," Carroll said.
"They've also all seen a season down south in the winter, it will take a bit of a change, but they will be alright.
"We're hoping to strengthen up the forward line and look at bringing a faster side.
"We will be doing game simulations and drills getting to know the players because we only have short amount of time (before the season)."
In their earlier signings the blues also scored Curtis Steele from Holbrook.
"He is also one of our main recruits and will in the centre," Carroll said.
The Blues first match is an away game against East Wagga-Kooringal on April 6.
