Aiken has named a 37-man squad after two rounds of the Farrer League that will be trimmed down to take on Hume League at Osborne on May 18.
Aiken contacted all club coaches before he named the squad to ensure he got players who were willing to commit to the cause.
"The blokes that are committed are the blokes I want in there," Aiken said.
"I made a point of getting around all of the coaches, told them who I wanted and got them to go back to the players and ask if they were interested. If they don't want to be there, I didn't want them in there.
"I don't want guys who say they want to be there and then the week before, pull out."
Aiken, a four-time Gerald Clear Medallist in the Farrer League, wants to restore pride in the competition after last year's 85-point loss to Riverina League.
"It was pretty embarrassing to watch last year, to be honest," he said.
"The Farrer League likes to put their hand up and say there's not much between the two leagues but the commitment of the players is probably the biggest thing. The best and worst players, there's not too much different to be honest, it's the way the players go about it, and the different brand of footy."
Aiken and his selectors are preparing for the team to play some 'good Farrer League footy', but have also ensured the squad has enough pace and run.
East Wagga-Kooringal has the biggest representation in the squad with six players headed by two-time Gerald Clear Medallist Nick Hull, while the likes of Mitch Haddrill, Jacob May, Chris Gordon, Matt Wallis and Jacob Turner have all made themselves available.
Ben Absolum and Tim Sullivan have been included as playing selectors.
The squad will train four times, starting from Tuesday April 30 at Maher Oval.
