It looked like the jail doors would shut behind Darlington Point's Thomas Gordon Power when he came before Griffith Local Court.

Charged with fresh matters of possessing drugs, old charges the 31-year-old faced earlier in the year were re-sentenced.
Found with the drugs hidden in a secret compartment under the glovebox of the car in January this year, Magistrate Joy Boulos was less than pleased to have him before her again after sentencing him late last year.
"Tell me," she said to Power's representative Connor Cregan.
"Why shouldn't I just send him straight to jail? His sentencing assessment report is shocking... he has shown nothing but contempt for the court."
Mr Cregan told the magistrate Power had told him he no longer used drugs, specifically methamphetamine, since recently becoming a father.
"Congratulations," Ms Boulos stated with a straight face upon hearing news. Seated next to Powers in the court room was his partner and his new child, both silent as they waited for the verdict.
Yet the chips appeared stacked against him.
Ms Boulos detailed his failure to comply with court orders, not engaging with community corrections, his continued re-offending aggravating circumstances, his unwillingness to attend rehabilitation for drug use, and his apparent lying to the court.
"I remember seeing him last year... he has done nothing to better himself, and just keeps reoffending," she said.
Mr Cregan argued if she sent him to jail full time he would not be able to provide the court proof of his life-changes, or to be able to participate in courses for alcohol and drugs that he needed.
"Your honour, please consider one more chance to allow him to prove himself," Mr Cregan pleaded. She said she had to take into consideration the victims of the previous matter, which Mr Cregan assured her Power had done nothing since.
In January last year, Power destroyed one woman's mailbox by driving his car over it.
Leaving and then returning, the situation accelerated, resulting in Powers pinning one woman to the garage with his car.
"I am swayed. You will not get full-time custody today."
She revoked his previous bond and resentenced him with two 12 month jail sentences to be served in the community, with "stringent" conditions which, if broken, would send him to jail.
For the fresh matter, she placed him on a community corrections order for 18 months with the same conditions.
