With assisted dying now legal in Victoria, Member for Murray Helen Dalton has said NSW "could learn" from the bill.

Mrs Dalton said while she was "inclined to support" legislation allowing assisted dying, she would study any bill "very carefully" to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
"I'm inclined to support legislation allowing for people in immense pain and terminally ill to seek assistance in ending their life," she said.
As a Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party member, she would be granted a conscience vote to decide her own course of action on voting on the sensitive issue.
When introduced NSW Parliament in 2017, Shooters Member for Orange Phil Donato supported the bill legalising euthanasia.
This is despite fellow Shooters' Party members Robert Brown and Robert Borsak voting against it at the time.

Mrs Dalton said NSW can learn from Victoria's new voluntary assisted dying laws, but our own should be carefully scrutinised.
"My personal view has always been that the government should not be interfering in people's private lives," she said,
"But I would study any bill very carefully to ensure appropriate safeguards are put in place."
Euthanasia is now allowed in Victoria, but under strict conditions.
Importantly, all applications for euthanasia must be vetted by an independent panel, which includes specially trained doctors.
"I would support a similar approach in NSW," she said.
Under the scheme, terminally-ill Victorian adults in intolerable pain and with less than six months to live, or 12 months for neurodegenerative diseases, and who meet 68 safeguards can request their doctor's help in dying.
They must also be able to communicate a decision about voluntary assisted dying through the formal request process.
Added to that, the person has to have been living in Victoria for at least a year, and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
