Darlington Point author Caroline Tuohey was on hand to give a sneak peek of her newest book - The Christmas Garden - which will be released to the public on October 11.
Not only did the children's book suit the Christmas in July theme for the storytime session at the library, but Mrs Tuohey also dressed as Mrs Claus much to the delight of the large group of children on hand for the event.
The Christmas Garden is Mrs Tuohey's fourth children's book to be published and she has another in the works.
"I've been doing this now for about 10 years," she said.
"I've always had an interest in writing, especially children's books.
"It's lovely to be able to do these sorts of events with the children because you get to see their reactions to the books and the smiles on their faces."
It has been a busy time for the Darlington Point local, who was also in Leeton over the weekend for the Australian Art Deco Festival with a stall selling her books.

Mrs Tuohey has also been shortlisted for 2019 Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards for her third picture book Boof Goes to Beauty School in the five to eight years category.
"These are very prestigious awards, so it's quite an honour for me to be shortlisted ... I was very excited when I found out," she said.
"There's a lot of wonderful books that have been shortlisted as well."
