Seven new citizens were welcomed at a ceremony at the Darlington Point council chambers last week, with Mohan Kaigala, Bhargav Lavu, Nag Kaigala, Chelsea Baumann, Haizel De Peralta, Shane De Peralta and Eduardo De Peralta all awarded their citizenship in front of family and friends.
Murrumbidgee Council mayor Ruth McRae said it was a pleasure to welcome the new citizens and hoped they enjoy their new life in the region.
"It's a great honour that all of these people have chosen our part of the world to live in," Cr McRae said.
"I wish all of our new citizens every success in the future."

The Darlington Point ceremony was one of two citizenship ceremonies administered by Murrumbidgee Council in the last week, with one also held in Jerilderie.
There has been three citizenship ceremonies held in Darlington Point this year, with six new residents welcomed across two ceremonies in March and June.
