In one of the biggest meetings at the new track, the judge couldn't separate Rocky Branach and Carramar Arapaho in the feature race.

Reinsman Blake Jones wasn't convinced he'd held on to take out the Hotondo Homes Final (2240m).

"He did pretty good," Jones said.

"He had to get going a little bit earlier than I wanted to but if I waited any longer I probably would have had a few people looking to come out underneath you as they do in the back straight.

"I thought he might have held on but the other fella just got there in the last stride or two.

"He's not a bad horse the other fella and he had a good run so I was happy to share it."

There have only been two dead heats at the new track with Jones involved in both of them.

Jones was the most successful driver on the card after taking out the last race with Master Jude.

The Coleambally reinsman thought the three-year-old relished racing against his own age.

"He got back into his own group for the first time this season and able to get back into the winners circle," Jones said.

"I thought he was a pretty good chance off his two-year-old form if he could go like that and he did."

It was part of a race-to-race double for trainer Col Thomas with Master Jude's half-brother Metal Rock also successful.
