The much-loved Launceston locals also claimed another historic title - the twins were the first all-women team to win House Rules.

Kimmy said winning the $100,000 cash prize was never at the forefront of their minds while they battled to stay in the competition.

"For us, winning was never part of it," Kimmy said. "We just wanted to have a good time and get the house done.

"Me and Rhi have always been strong women, we pride ourselves on being able to do things for ourselves. I hope we have set that example that you can do anything."

Kimmy and Rhi plan to split their prize money and use it to gain greater financial freedom.

"I'm going to pay off my personal loan so I can own my car and I did want to go on a holiday but that's now got a pin in it because of corona," Kimmy advised.

"Pretty much boring stuff for me, but Rhi gets to do all the fun stuff."

For Rhi, they prize money will help her achieve her dream of home ownership.

"I just bought a house the other day so we're going to use the $50,000 when it comes in to do some renovations and I'll buy myself a nice little car and just have a good time with it," Rhi said.

Despite their success, the down-to-earth duo have returned to their day jobs.

Kimmy and Rhi said having the whole of Tasmania behind them was a humbling experience.

"It's so lovely, you can't even describe what it feels like it's just like everyone's got your back and it's so nice," Rhi said.

The twins said their next goal was to start their own interior design, styling or home renovation consultancy.

"We're going to hopefully look into potential businesses, we're not 100 per cent sure yet," Rhi said.
