The YouTube sensation, known online as Friendlyjordies, is widely-known for his fearless approach to Australia's most potent political problems.
His latest exposé will centre on Griffith, mainly water mismanagement, motor neurone disease, unfathomably high suicide rates and political misconduct.
"From what I gather and from everybody that I've been talking to, there seems to be a groundswell and a general understanding that the Nationals are basically just an in-Parliament mafia," Mr Shanks said.
"Maybe you should stop voting for them, but then again I think everybody understands that at this point."
Friendlyjordies and his team drove to Murray MP Helen Dalton's family farm in Binya, before heading to Griffith to interview MND sufferer Tania Magoci and Winery boss Darren De Bortoli.
"Mainstream Sydney media virtually never comes here," Mrs Dalton said.
"It's great for us that someone with such a high profile online has decided to shine a light on the decline of the bush."
Shanks' weekend away has helped uncover the growing gap between living standards in Sydney and regional New South Wales.
The comedian currently boasts over 400,000 followers on YouTube and over a quarter-million likes on Facebook.
Hopefully, his upcoming video on Griffith will help to shine the spotlight on some of our region's biggest issues.
"I would go as far as to say this isn't water mismanagement, it's probably a combination of wilful ignorance and corruption," Mr Shanks said.
"This is all very deliberate, this is all by design, and everything I've seen from my trip down there kept confirming that."
