The coronavirus pandemic, of course, impacted elite level sport. If competitions weren't cancelled, they were likely suspended.
Sports administrators tapped into their innovation skills and many managed to make the best of a truly disrupted year.
Hubs or bubbles, now common parlance for sports fans, ensured sports across the globe could be played. Mostly without the crowds normally expected - and sometimes with just officials - but the business of sport did continue.
Not the Olympic Games though. The delayed Olympics are set to start on Friday, July 23, 2021. Fingers crossed.
