THE Barellan Masters Games was a sure fire hit with participants over the weekend with the town brimming with activity and visitors alike.

The weekend got underway with the official opening of the Goolagong Barellan Tennis Courts with all of the sporting action then taking place throughout town over the two days.
This year there was a record number of individual participants with 210 people registering for the games.
The cattle team sorting brought upwards of 50 new entrants with the walk, basketball and triathlon sports seeing new teams join for the first time.
Participant Leah Irons declared the weekend a success, saying she was happy to have been involved.
"It was a great weekend with so many sports," she said.
Others commented on how smoothly the event went over the two days and more said they would be back again in 2022.
Sally Irons won the "Master Blaster" honour, which is awarded to the competitor who achieves the highest amount of points in competing and winning medals across the 10 sports on offer.

Games publicity co-ordinator Carl Chirgwin was pleased to see so many people out and about taking part.
"Our event continues to attract sportspeople of the older generation in a variety of sports," he said.
"Just as much as the games may be over for another year, planning is already underway for a very special 10th edition of the (event) on the last weekend in February 2022 as 'it's never too late to participate'."
