Over the next few weekends, selected SWJ from Coleambally will participate in representative football and netball.
Under 12 Net-Set-Go girls enjoyed their game and are showing the results of their regular training. Carissa Bellato was named as one of Coly’s best players on the day.
Under 11 netball had a disappointing 7-5 loss. The girls were unlucky not to have had a win. Best players for the Blues were Angela Rainbird and Abby Young.
Under 13 netball also had a loss, going down 16-11.
The girls are playing well and continue to improve their play around the court.
Best for Coly were Courtney Foster and Ella Painting.
In under 11 football the Blues lost 4.3 (27) to the Jets 5.7 (37).
The young team continues to work well together.
Goal scorers for Coly were Bryce Rogers, Chris Hayes, Tom Munn and Harry Tooth.
Best for the Blues were Chris Hayes, Jack Hudson, Bryce Rogers, James Buchanan, Harry Tooth and Jack Cullen.
The under 13 side was elated with it first win – 6.4 (40) to The Jets 4.2 (26).
The boys proved to themselves that persistence and commitment are a big part of any successful team.
Coly’s goals went to Jack Cullen, Blake Goudie (2) and Ryan Mannes, James Lyell. Best for the Blues were James Lyell, Blake Goudie, Tim Hayes, Tom Mannes, Ryan Mannes and Tom Rice.
Next Sunday Coly’s SWJ teams will travel to Griffith to play the Giants in round 8.
Junior netball (under 15) was delighted with its team effort as it had a 20-16 win. Best players for the Blues were Jemma Goudie and Alicia Hudson.
With The Northern Jets under 17 football team bowing out of the competition, the Coly boys had an unscheduled bye.
Reserve grade had an impressive 43-point win – 14.9 (93) to The Jets 7.8 (50).
The team was inspired early in the game with the prospect of its first win of the season.
Coly’s goal scorers were Justin Lashbrook (5), Daniel Tuohey (3), Andrew Noack, Phil Burge (2), Sam Wood and Blake Wiseman.
Best for the Blues were Justin Lashbrook, Phil Burge, Blake Wiseman, Tom Fuller, Adam Evans and Corban O’Malley.
First grade was luckless in the final quarter, going down by just five points 176 (108) to the Jets 17.11 (113).
The Blues took a 15-point lead to halftime and the local crowd was anxiously anticipating what could have been a Coly win.
Accurate kicking by the Blues was not enough to give them a victory.
Blues goals went to Simon Mackie (5), Jason Heath (3), Tony Pound, Jacob Breed (2), Cameron McFadyen, Aaron Hardie, Jay Pound, Adam Boag and Shane Pound.
Next weekend Coleambally seniors will travel to TRYC for round 7.
