This is the the third time this event has been run and organiser Pete Smith said they’ve increased numbers each year.
“So far this year our online entries have double in numbers,” he said.
“The first year we had about 400 people sign up, last it was 520 and this year we’re looking at about 600 to 620.”
It wasn’t just the participant numbers that were growing either.
“It's growing and it seems to go from strength to strength,” he said.
“More and more sponsors are coming on board combined with the people that are helping out.
“What makes this even better is that 100 percent of the money we make (except that to use for next year’s competition) we give away to charity.
“We've got a good strong committee and they all work together well.
“We work hard do to make sure we get a good event each and every year.”
