CFNC Netball Report
The very wet and cold conditions didn’t agree with the Coly Blues girls on Saturday when they travelled to The Rock.
As the netballers tried to bounce back from a disappointing week against a strong CSU side, things didn’t quite start how they would have liked.
The C grade squad continued to try their best but couldn’t match The Rock girls losing 34 to 21.
Kate Miller was awarded The Brolga award for umpire’s choice and her determined play throughout the game while Kate Huckle continues to show improvement in her game, was given the Xing Loang Restaurant Player’s Player award.
A well fought game was played by the A reserve girls.
They got off to a sluggish start which resulted with them being down b seven goals at one point in the game. They didn’t throw in the towel as they manage to claw their way back to lose by only two goals.
The final score was 53-51.
All players displayed real strength and determination throughout the game.
Charmaine displayed speed and leadership and was the worthy recipient of both the weekly awards.
A grade also hard a close encounter against The Rock.
All girls gave everything they could to the game but were unfortunate not to take the win this week .
The score being 44 to 40 which is a high score considering the atrocious, slippery conditions. Brianna Clark was awarded the Brolga award for best on court, demonstrating great skill and speed through the mid court.
Wendy Schirmer was voted player’s player by her teammates for her determination and agility in defence.
A grade now sit in 5th spot on the ladder, tied on points with both TRYC and Barellan.
JUNIOR ROOSTERS:
The rain caused havoc for the Darlington Point Coleambally Roosters as their weekend games were called off. The Roosters also have a bye this week.
