Neoen Solar Farm in Coleambally

Neoen will leverage off its local experience developing four comparable projects in NSW including one of them in Griffith (Yoogali), all having received federal support in the form of a grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and having started construction in early 2017.

Coleambally’s Solar Farm will have a capacity of up to 180 megawatts (MW) and will provide employment opportunities, especially when the construction phases which is expected to commence in late 2017.

Franck Woitiez, managing director of Neoen Australia said his company has proudly invested in more than 450MW of wind, solar and off-grid solar projects in Australia since 2012.

“The year ahead looks even more promising,” he said.

“Similarly to its other NSW projects, the Coleambally Solar Farm is close to electricity consumption centres in NSW and is at the heart of Neoen’s long-term development strategy in Australia.

“The development of this project is facilitated by the NSW Renewable Energy Action Plan which is designed to attract reliable, sustainable and competitive energy in NSW.”

The community drop-in session will be held on Monday, March 20 at the Coleambally Community Club with the session running from 4pm until 8pm.
