Four girls and two women made the trek from Colleambally to Bathurst.
The club’s organiser Rebecca Boag said that while the club’s first competitive event was daunting, she was very proud of all of the girls.
“Some of the girls have gone into a very hard age group. Some of the girls compete from age three and work their way up,” she said.
These girls have gone into the 10 and 11 year age group. It’s really hard to start in that age and they did really well. Everyone should be very proud of themselves.”
Of the six, Rebecca Boag placed third, Claire Boag placed fourth in her age division and the others walked away with highly commended honours.
“It was my first competition in 29 years. Anne had competed in a long time either,” she said.
Ms Boag formed the club at the beginning of the year after her daughter expressed an interest in dancing.
“My daughter wanted to do dancing and travelling into Griffith was a lot, so I figured that we might as well start up a local club,” she said.
“Physical Culture (or physi) is like a mixture of yoga and pilates but set to modern music.”
Today, the club boasts 25 members of all ages.
In October, the group will travel to Sydney for the Champion Girl competition.
