Sturt Highway accident
Sturt Highway remains closed to traffic with diversions in place after a critical accident between two trucks in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Ambulance received the call at 3.49am, with reports two trucks had collided on the Sturt Highway about 20km East of Waddi.
The two trucks were travelling in opposite directions and scrapped past each other, resulting in one of the B doubles ending up passenger-side down.
The single occupant male driver ended up trapped inside the cabin by confinement only, no other compression forces.
Ambulance, fire services, police and VRA rescue, and managed to extricate him out of the cabin, and he was unconscious the whole time.
The man received a critical head injury and was taken to Canberra hospital in the Southcare helicopter in a critical condition.
The other truck driver was unhurt.
Oakes Road accident
At about 6.21am on Wednesday morning, ambulance responded to a call reporting a motorcyclist had collided with a truck on Oakes Road in Griffith.
The 36-year-old male was transported to Griffith Base Hospital in a serious condition, with suspected fractures to pelvis and lower limbs.
