NSW Labor leader Michael Daley has promised more local workers and materials will be used in major state government contracts if elected in the upcoming election.

The NSW opposition leader announced on Sunday that Labor will create a new law which will require local jobs and materials to be written into all government tender documents.
State government projects valued at more than $50 million will also trigger a 50 per cent local workforce and materials target.
"After years of seeing jobs and work going overseas Labor will reverse that trend," Mr Daley said in a statement on Sunday.
"I want to support the people who are putting their faith in this state, who want to live and work in NSW,"
Opposition finance spokesman Clayton Barr said the days of actively sending work abroad would end under a Labor government.
The announcement comes just under five weeks away from the NSW election on March 23.
