A one-off $5000 payment is being offered to farmers who suffered losses when floodwaters washed through cattle country in the state's central west this month, local councils said on Friday.
The grants are part of a formal strategy to get rid of hundreds of thousands of livestock killed by exposure and left strewn across the shires of Richmond, Cloncurry, McKinlay, Winton and Flinders.
