Being treated to a free morning tea after their ceremony last week, the residents were offered lamingtons alongside their laminated citizenship certificates.
Eugene Tero, Inigo Tero, Carlito Dela Rosa, Geronimo Carpio, and David Carpio all hail from the Philippines.
The new Aussies said they were elated to have received their new found nationality with several saying they are planning on building a house.
"I am very happy, Darlington Point is quiet and the people are good, there are very friendly and hospitable" Eugene Tero said.
"Me, my wife and kid always go to the park and the pool and river."
Mayor Ruth McRae said she was also glad to see the residents become certified Aussies.
"I think it's a great investment in our council's future that they can take citizenship and live here among us," Councillor McRae said.
