Tries flowed freely on both sides - so much so that by the time the end-game whistle the final tally stood at 50-34.
Roosters coach Joshua Veivers said he was happy to pick up a win, but that Sunday's game had exposed some weaknesses in their defence.
"We were a bit scruffy," Veivers said.
"It shows we've got some things we need to work on."
Veivers said the Roosters had let a couple of careless points to slip past them, and he would be looking to shore up the team's defences in their upcoming training sessions.
He said it had been a tough early-to-mid game against some of the Black and Whites' big, heavyweight players.
But come late-game the Roosters put on a powerful performance, completing their sets in the second half and racking up the points.
Veivers gave props to Luke Hogan, who has so far been putting on an impressive performance early into the season.
He said Drew Hopwood was also doing the team proud, adding that the return of Robert Simpson was another very welcome addition to the team.
Veivers himself put in the hard yards on the day, netting seven goals with his straight shooting.
The Roosters have so far maintained a solid third-place spot on the ladder, and will be looking to keep that momentum heading into the season.
Heading into round 6 the Roosters will be taking on the Yenda Blueheelers at Wade Park on May 12.
It's expected to be an action packed Sunday, with the Hawks squaring off against the Black and Whites, the Tigers butting heads with the West Wyalong Mallee Men, and Tullibeagal going head-to-head against Hay.
