A total fire ban has been declared for the entirety of NSW, with firefighters bracing for heightened bushfire risks in the coming days.

The fire ban starts from midnight tonight and will last until November 12 due to the dangerous fire conditions.
Until the fire ban is lifted, no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.
This includes incinerators and barbecues which burn solid fuel, e.g. wood, charcoal or heat beads. No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open.

Firefighters expect the fires will spread to much broader areas including large population centres, and they predict the conditions will be as bad, if not worse, than those experienced on Friday,
There is already extensive fire activity across the north coast and northern NSW areas, and firefighters say these fires won't be contained in time.
Fire Danger Ratings will be provided this afternoon, based on the latest forecast.
