Despite the result, the manner in which the Strikers valiantly went about stalking down the Hurricanes' mammoth 1-217 has left Salt feeling more buoyed than ever.

"It was a good chase and I back us against anyone now," said Salt, who smacked 66 off just 33 balls to set the chase attempt in motion.

"No panic, nothing like that, we're playing good cricket and we're going to keep doing the same things.

"As a side we were quite relaxed and quite free and we got pretty close.

"It took two pretty outstanding knocks by Shorty and Wadey and they (Hobart) finished quite well with the ball.

"I back us as a side over anyone right now."

The defeat snapped Adelaide's four-game winning streak and also ended their hopes of a top-two finish and finals double chance.

Now, in order to make the decider, the third-ranked Strikers will have win back-to-back sudden-death finals, starting with the knockout this Saturday.

If the Hurricanes win their eliminator this Thursday against either Brisbane Heat or Sydney Thunder, they will return to Adelaide Oval to play the Strikers in that knockout.

"We'll be watching whoever is going to come our way on Saturday night in the play-off," Salt said.

"We're all hitting the ball well and bowling well so I'm very confident about the next few games."
