Helen Dalton heard she was snubbed because her home is just outside her electorate of Murray on a farm that straddles Narrandera and Griffith council areas.

Instead Cootamundra MP Steph Cooke joins fellow National Deputy Premier John Barilaro for events, Better Regulation and Innovation Minister Kevin Anderson said.

"(Mrs Dalton) does not live in Murray but instead lives (in the seat of) Cootamundra," the Nationals MP told the Legislative Assembly last week.

"That is why the member for Cootamundra gets invited to events that the Deputy Premier goes to.

"If the member for Murray wants to fix that then she should shift where she lives."

Mrs Dalton slammed the rationale.

"It's a lot of rubbish, they don't invite you because they don't want to see you in the paper with projects," she said.

"It's pathetic and it's puerile and I don't think the electorate is suffering because my house is a couple of hundred metres from the boundary of the electorate."

Mrs Dalton said the farm at Binya had two houses on it and if she shifted to the other home it would be in Murray.

The comments came during a failed no-confidence motion in Mr Barilaro, who threatened to split the government on koala policy.

Mrs Dalton supported the motion put by the Labor Opposition on the basis of the Nationals "neglect" of Murray and Mr Barilaro's behaviour that included him referring to her as "disgusting human" on Twitter.

"My electorate has the highest suicide rate in NSW but does not have a single mental health service in any of its hospitals," she said.

"Why does the Deputy Premier not jump up and down in the media about that?

"That is something that he should threaten to leave the government over, but alas he only talks about himself."

After the vote, Mr Barilaro said the confidence of country NSW citizens and Nationals colleagues "matters most".
