This time, recruitment will be targeted so applicants have the option of learning the skills to work in specific areas of interest instead of broadly focusing on every service the SES provides.
According to Deputy Rescue Officer Anthony Hatch ("Hatchie"), the unit currently has about 25 active members and is always looking for more community members to get involved.
"If you are looking to learn a new skill trainees can learn everything from how to drive a 4WD to abseiling, driving a boat, fixing roof systems and stormwater damage....there really is something for everyone"
The unit is especially interested in recruiting those interested in being trained up as swift water rescuers.
All training courses are completely free and are nationally recognised qualifications however if these often physically demanding roles aren't for you, Hatchie says there equally important supporting roles on offer on the operations side of the unit.

"We also have positions for beacon operators who provide the logistical support for the unit and help us manage and priorities jobs as they are called in, its a really important role and we couldn't function as effectively without these volunteers" Hatchie said.
Trainees can expect to be sent all over the country, responding to natural disasters and emergency situations as they happen in real time.
"It's a great way to meet people and help support your community" Hatchie said.
"It opens your eyes up and provides new opportunities in your life".
Currently the unit has a handful of girls however they are always looking for more. Erin Sinclair joined up almost two years ago and said that since joining, there has been nothing she hasn't been able to do.
"There are no self limiting beliefs allowed here, you can do anything you want to do, and you are pushed to do your very best and challenge yourself" Mrs Sinclair said.
