Mount Isa City Council would like to advise that tenders for management of Splashez Aquatic Centre will soon be open. Current lessee, Mount Isa Aquatics, have withdrawn from their position, after giving many years of valuable service to the community. Mayor Joyce McCulloch said the facility would unfortunately remain closed until a new lessee was found, but the future growth of the pool facility would remain of great importance to the Council and the community. “Council and the current contractor have agreed that a new management tender is in the best long term interest of the operations of the facility,” Cr McCulloch said. “We thank Mount Isa Aquatics for the years that they have spent dedicated to our facility.” “We will keep the public informed as to the expected reopening date of Splashez Aquatic Centre.”
